Hiraeth

Due to popular demand, the choir has recently recorded a CD entitled ‘Hiraeth’ (there is no direct translation but the closest word in English is longing).

The CD features previously unreleased recordings such as
‘My Lord what a morning’
‘Hiraeth’
‘American Trilogy’
‘Love is all around’
... as well as some other well know favourites.

I was to thrilled to receive the CD and thank you both very much for you kidness. I listened to it yesterday and today and loved listing to the songs. Moriah Church came back into my mind and the many times that I visisted Abercynon, either going along the tram road or along by the Travellers Rest.

All the Welsh people are born with music in the heart and it certainly comes through in the recording by Cor Meibion Abercynon. The range of the programme must appeal to many with 'My Lord what a morning'. I especially loved 'Rachie', 'Hiraeth', 'Ar lan y Mor' and 'At the end of he day'. The choir must be truly dedicated to meet for practice twice a week and I wish you every success and joy inthe future. Some evenings I settle down to listen to the Welsh Choirs and course Abercynon will now be a part of the programme, thanks to you.

I was pleased to receive a note of your address because it brought back memories of my brother Ivor who lived a few doors away from you. Gaynor, it was so lovely to see you and Nance when we came down at the beginning of the month.
